When converting a client's IP into a tangible product, a balance is needed between the likeliness of the original design and Makeship's brand house style and proportions.
Figure 1: A sample design's original concepts, compared to Makeship's brand house style for a plush design.
Keeping this in mind, I've optimized designs that use exaggerated shape language that allows the character's silhouette to be recognizable to the IP but also simplify construction to allow mass production within budget costs.
Through different character body types and anatomies, I curate each design to be immersed within the same "Makeship" universe, allowing designs to be delightful for the eye and also inviting tactile play and interaction.

Communicating the design to manufacturing requires a schematic that defines all materials used, colour swatches, turnarounds and callouts for construction methods.
Figure 3: A turnaround schematic of the design to communicate its construction to manufacturing.
During the design process, the client may request features that closely aligns with their vision, yet may be unfeasible for a plush design. My job was to also consult between manufacturing, sales team and the client for the limitations of the product construction, budget limitations, unique material sourcing and problem solving for product design solutions.

I've built a lightweight script that automates schematic file data into organizational folder structures, file names and written information within the file itself.
This solution frees up to 30 mins per day, preventing error-prone manual repetitions and lost files in the company library.
Initially, designers worked on a schematic file template that requires the following information:
Many, if not all of this data is repetitively and manually inserted into the schematic template file, file name and its folder name within the library; at least 3 times.
I've set out on a solution that allows this information to be automated so that the error margin of manually typing the same thing over and accidentally saving to the wrong folder can be reduced, if not eliminated.

I specialise in characters that are horror-based, anime girls and knight/plated armour designs.
